Summary
To some extent, the story of the reception of Hohfeld’s analytical scheme1 over the past hundred years has been a story of conflict between the ardent supporters of Hohfeld’s work and its harsh critics. To the former, the genius of Hohfeld was to provide (or gather together2) seminal insights regarding the operation of law, which are fundamental to any clear understanding of law.
