The foundac[ion] of Sir Thoma[s] Exmewys p[reest] and obyte
[T]his indenture trypertite made the xviijth daye of January the yere of oure lorde God M Vc xxviij and the xxth yere of our soverayn lorde Kynge Henry viijth, betwene Thomas Exmewe, knyght and alderman of the citie of London, Rauf Rowlet, Nicholas Bulle, and Henry Averell, wardeyns of the mistere of goldsmythes of the said citie and the cominaltie of the saide mistere on that one partie, and Lawrens Gopferler, Maister of the howce or chirche of Seint Thomas of Acon in Westchepe of London and his cobrethern on the seconde partie, and William Richelle, parson of the parisshe churche of Seynt Mary Magdalyn in Milkestrete of London, Edward Murell and William Collsell, wardeyns of the said parisshe churche on the thyrde partie, witnessithe that the said Syr Thomas Exmew of speciall trust and confidens whiche he hathe in the said Maister and brethern and in their successors and to the intent by them to have his mynde and wyll truly fulfilled of a preest perpetually to be founde to synge and contynually to pray in the said parisshe chirche of Seint Mary Magdalen in Milkestrete of London for the sowle of the saide Sir Thomas, his frendys and benefactours soulis as here under more playnelye ys specified. The daye and yere aforesaide have paied and delyvered to the saide Maister and brethern within the howce callyd Seynt Thomas of Acon of London, to the encreace and augmentacion of the said maister and brethern and of their successours, and to the good contynuaunce of the hole companye of the same howce: Nyne score poundys of good and lawfull money of Englonde. The whiche nyne score poundys the saide maister and brethern knowlegen them by these presenttis of the said Syr Thomas to the entent aforesaid trewly to have receyved.
