Summary
Nearly fifty years ago, Knox (1970) commented that, “Research regarding conceptions of love is lacking. Many writers offer plausible opinions and contentions regarding love attitudes, but provide little empirical data” (p. 151). In the decades that have followed, writers still offer “plausible opinions and contentions,” but, as shall be seen, they can no longer be accused of not providing empirical data.
