Summary
It probably goes without saying that one of the ideas that has dominated OT theology and NT theology over the last century or so is the idea of covenant. It affects, and is affected by, one’s view of salvation history and progressive revelation. On the one hand, there are those scholars, mostly of the Reformed camp, who want to talk about covenantal continuity, or better said, one covenant in various different administrations, such that the New Covenant is not a genuinely new covenant, it’s a renewal of the Old Covenant and in particular the Mosaic covenant.
