Summary
Archbishop Ralph d'Escures of Canterbury writes to the sons of Count Robert I of Meulan on the events he witnessed at their father's deathbed, urging the restitution of some unspecified lands at La Croix St-Leuffroy that their father had withheld from the abbey of that place.

Radulphus Cantuarensis archiepiscopus filiis comitis de Mellento, salutem et dei benedictionem et suam. Sciatis quod pater vester, cum in extrema infirmitate sua laboraret, a me concilium de salute animae suae requisivit, et inter caetera quae mihi et episcopo de Lescestra confesus est peccata, haec quoque quae in ecclesia de Cruce sancti Leufredi deliquit in praesentia nostra lachrimabiliter conquestus est, unde concilio nostro quicquid in eadem villa tenebat praeter vineam sub testimonio nostro pro remissionem peccatorum suorum ipsi concessit, et poenitentiam ex hoc quod in praefatam ecclesiam deliquerat humiliter requisivit. Nos itaque, qui huius rei testes sumus, laudamus et consulimus vobis ut vos animam patris vestri sicut boni filii diligentes, ea quae ipse concessit, eadem concedatis, et qui corpus ejus dum viveret amavistis, amate nunc animam, eadem bene custodienda quae pro salute sua constituit.
