Regular readers of this journal will have noticed that, following the second issue of this year, published in April, later issues of European Review have been severely delayed. This was due to a cybersecurity attack on Cambridge University Press, the publisher of the journal, which occurred at the beginning of June. The attack interrupted the publisher’s link to its typesetting, proofreading and publishing services and paralysed almost all article production for more than three months. Fortunately, access to back issues and articles already published online was maintained throughout the incident. In addition, the article submission and peer review processes were unaffected. The publishing services resumed at the beginning of September, but are still facing a daunting backlog of articles to process. Consequently, not all planned issues of European Review will be published before the end of the year. All remaining articles will be pushed to next year’s (33rd) volume. It is a pleasure for me to resume the publication of the journal with the third regular issue of 2024.
